How to Clean & Care for Gold-Plated Jewellery

Our 18K PVD-plated pieces are waterproof and anti-tarnish, but a gentle clean keeps them at their brightest. Here's exactly how.

PVD plating bonds gold to stainless steel at a molecular level, so it's far more durable than ordinary electroplating. A light routine is all it needs.

The 4-step clean

  1. 1

    Mix a gentle bath

Add a drop of mild dish soap to a bowl of warm (not hot) water. Skip anything abrasive or alcohol-based.

  2. 2

    Soak briefly

Let the piece sit for 3–5 minutes to loosen oils and product buildup from skin and perfume.

  3. 3

    Wipe softly

Use a soft microfibre cloth or a baby-soft toothbrush to lift residue from settings and links.

  4. 4

    Dry completely

Pat dry and let it air out fully before storing. Trapped moisture is the enemy of any finish.

Do & don't

  • Do put jewellery on last — after perfume, lotion and hairspray.
  • Don't use ultrasonic cleaners or jewellery dips on plated pieces.
  • Do store pieces separately to avoid scratches.
